The Movement of God: Set Apart for the Work (Acts 13: 1 - 14:28)
Dave Connolly looks at Acts 13, in which Saul and Barnabas are sent on their first missionary journey. Dave talks about the importance of living a life that is led by the Holy Spirit.
He talks about how the church needs the convicting power of the Holy Spirit today. We should want people to meet with the Holy Spirit, more than we want them to meet with us. Church is not supposed to be an organisation, it certainly is not a business.
Dave challenges us: If we want to hear God and be guided by the Holy Spirit as a church, we need to worship God, pray and read our Bible's. We cannot neglect these things; we must pursue relationship with God, above all else.
Dave then talks about how, as a church, we need to be willing to give our very best. The church in Acts 13 sent its very best missionaries. Sometimes God's greatest work begins in our willingness to let go. He warns us to expect resistance, but not to give up when things get tough, like they did for Paul and Barnabas.
