Jo’s Story

“I’ve done loads of different stuff with children and young people at the Tab. I started with the Youth Group lead by Stan McFall (legend). There were a lot of dramas but it was fun!

Years ago we did a Sunday school nativity that needed some extra angels for a song so Donna, Mel and I and others hid behind the curtain on the pulpit and when the angel song began we popped up with sparkly blue tinsel haloes and did a little dance. I think there were some jazz hands!

Most of all I loved working with the Kids’ Club kids to make their videos. They were such fun!  We had Brandon as David and Thomas as Goliath in a sumo suit. Jessie and Esme were cute angels in tutus but the funniest to record were Andy Langton on a tiny tricycle and Steve, Drew and Isaac in camel onesies! Danni was an amazing director and a fantastic kids’ worker. 

All of these memories of being part of kids’ work at the Tab remind me how through all the hard work, minor embarrassment and laughter we shared God’s word and God’s love in so many fun and encouraging ways, and I thank God for all the amazing young people who were part of it.
