Level 3 & Living as God’s people

Jo’s Story

“The first night I arrived in Liverpool, in the late 1990s, Cheryl took me to the Kwikkie to buy some food. They had a large selection of meat pies but nothing for a veggie like me. I had a little cry to God thinking ‘is this really the place for me?!’ But within days I was sitting in the coffee shop where Brenda, Barbara and Joyce served with kindness and love, listening to Terry Jones tell me of God’s vision for the community, seeing all that had already been achieved in the coffee shop, the pre-school, a growing church and now Level 3, a PRU in the basement. He was so passionate about how God was at work. I heard how God had brought Elaine to take over Level 3 where I was working.  It’s like God had perfectly prepared her and I was inspired by how Elaine was so willing to trust him in her role. She was such a wise, honest and caring boss.  I loved how Charles was willing to drive every day from Crewe because he wanted to be obedient to God’s call and because he loved the kids we worked with. (We taught some amazing kids).  Donna, Anne, Anne & Alison, everyone in level 3 all responded in obedience, served with humility and showed God’s love in every day to day task. They set such an amazing example of living as God’s people here in Toxteth that it made it so easy to say yes to God and settle here myself (I just wanted to be like them 😄)”
