Teenager at the Tab

Anne’s Story

I first came to the Tab as a new Christian in March 1973, aged 17.  I had a school friend who was the granddaughter of Tab members Gert and Dick Roberts.  They had invited her to attend the evening service with them as they celebrated their wedding anniversary.  I came along too, never imagining I would still be attending in 2022!

In those early days I joined the Youth Fellowship, and enjoyed Sunday evening meetings, sometimes at the Tab but also in homes or other churches.  I went on youth weekends, and camped in Keswick during the convention week.  Bank holidays were often marked by rambles on the Wirral.  I remember always wearing a skirt for church on Sundays, though trousers seemed to be acceptable other days of the week!!!  (Where did that come from?)
